Ireland Lightweight Pair Fifth in Aiguebelette Semi-Final

#Rowing: Shane O’Driscoll and Mark O’Donovan finished fifth in the semi-final of the lightweight men’s pairs at the World Rowing Championships in Aiguebelette in France this morning. Sam Scrimgeour and Joel Cassells won the race impressively, holding off Italy’s challenge down the course. Australia were third. Ireland, who go to the B Final, fought a battle with China for most of the 2,000 metres to avoid finishing last and won it with a good finish. Cassells represented Ireland as a junior.
