C-Spars carbon rig with a double set of swept back spreaders and rod rigging. Very clean interior with chart table, galley and marine toilet. She is a fun boat to race and can't wait to get back on to the race course. Her last IRC rating was 1.157 "Blue Belle" is a fun and exciting boat to sail and is competitive in all conditions. Viewing is a must.

Engine

The engine is a Yanmar 18hp. The owner suspects that it will require a rebuild or replacement. It is shaft driven with a two blade folding propeller.

Construction
Foam sandwich construction, using epoxy resins. This gives a very light, rigid structure. The keel is comprised of a lead bulb and stainless steel strut. This is encased in a fairing. The keel strut locates into the recess in the bottom of the hull. The spade rudder is a carbon fibre foam sandwich construction. The stock is carbon fibre and provides the structural strength.

Rig

"C-Spars" Carbon Mast with rod rigging Keel stepped with two sets of spreaders swept aft, a wide shroud base with a non overlapping configuration. Harken Carbon racing twin groove headstay foil. The design is a simple one with no running backstays or checkstays. The deep section boom is made of lightweight carbon. The height of the mast and tension of the shrouds is readily adjustable by means of an internal hydraulic jack and chocks. Carbon Spi-pole.

Most sailing cruisers on Irish waters are in the six to ten metre category and offer the protection of a cabin for over nighting and the Irish climate. There are different types of sailing cruisers including day sailors which are just one step up from a dinghy, weekenders which might have a twin keel and then sailing cruisers by the far the most common type of yacht in private use, making up most of the 7 metres (23ft) - 14 metres (46ft) range.

Sailing cruisers are used for many different activities from gentle harbour sailing and day cruising right up to blue water cruising and voyages across oceans. Smaller sailing cruiser examples are yachts from the Beneteau and Jeanneau ranges, Westerly, Albin Vega, Galion, Hurley, Jaguar, Etap to name just a few. From 20 foot trailer-sailers right up to Volvo Ocean Racers (VOR) they have all featured on our sailing cruisers for sale pages.

There is a very active racing scene around Irish water and each year sailing cruisers come together for national championships of all types of boats that compete together based on size and handicaps. Production boats compete with quite a lot of custom made sailing cruiser racers such as designs from the drawing boards of naval architects such as Mark Mills, John Corby, Jason Ker and Bruce Farr.
