View from the bridge: Saoirse na Farraige, the seasonal fast-ferry arriving in Galway Docks prior to opening this year's direct passenger service to Inis Mór, the largest of the Aran Islands. The vessel purpose built for Ireland's longest domestic ferry route, provides a convenient 90 minute direct link from the mid-west port city. AFLOAT also highlights that the ferry only enters the port's Dún Aengus Dock (as above for preparatory reasons) whereas passengers use the service based at the outer pier close to the Port of Galway office.
