The Department of Transport has been notified by Donegal County Council that they will carry out plough dredging at Buncrana Harbour in Lough Swilly between Tuesday 20 May and Monday 9 June.

The dredging is estimated to take three weeks, subject to weather and operational constraints, and is being carried out along the berthing face of Buncrana Pier, for 200
meters southwest of the head of the pier and also at the approach to the slipway.

Plough dredging will be carried out using the vessel Otterbank (callsign MWVJ5) during daylight hours only, from 0700 to 2000. The vessel will display appropriate lights and signals and will be operating on VHF Channel 14.

Relevant coordinates and contact details can be found in Marine Notice No 32 of 2025, attached below.
