The Around Powerboat Race 2010 finished in Galway Bay yesterday (Saturday 12 June) with German entry Cinzano Bianco claiming the overall prize with an average speed of 38 knots over the 7 day period. Cinzano Bianco driven by Markus Hendricks was also the only entry in a field of six to finish all six legs and claim the podium for each leg. Cork’s Justin McInerney onboard Team Pulsar claimed second prize having finished four of the five legs in this true test of physical endurance, reliability and technology.
The Race started last Saturday from Galway and circumnavigated the entire coast of Ireland in 5 stages. Galway to Killybegs: Killybegs to Belfast: Belfast to Waterford: Waterford to Fenit and Fenit to Galway
