9th–12th July – Féile Bia na Mara – Achill Seafood Festival – a diverse programme of events and activites over three days, including yawl racing (Friday 10th July) for the Patten Memorial Cup and Kayaking for Children (Sunday 12th)

Held in Lanesboro and Ballyleague for one week each year to increase awareness of the environment, this 12th event will be created and run by the staff of Lough Ree Development Co-op. Olympic Distance Triathlon with 300+ competitors, also focusing on a

12th July – Lough Ine Challenge, Baltimore. 9am. 250 competitors. Swim in the harbour of 1,500 metres followed by a 46km cycle to Skibbereen, Castletownshend, Tragumna, Lough Ine and on to Baltimore, finished off with a 10km run

Over six days, audiences can enjoy a program of 27 events including choral, traditional, jazz, show bands, bluegrass and contemporary music; a new production by Livin’ Dred Theatre Company (nominated for three Irish Times Theatre Awards), a giant street pageant in partnership with Cavan GAA plus a family program to include workshops and performances in Circus, Puppetry, Theatre and a Music master class with KILA, complimented by a fringe festival of visual art exhibitions, free street theatre performances and a number of gigs which will take place on a specially built Bandstand in Market Square
