What's Coming Up...

29th May 2009

After the Bank Holiday weekend you’ll feel rested, which is just as well – there’s a plethora of sailing and water-based events around the country all week. Before we get to those, if you’re a member of Howth YCs Cruising Group, why not head to Galway to view the Volvo Fleet. If you want to get a bit closer to the water though, Summer training courses at the National Yacht Club start, and Galway Bay are hosting the Galway Bay & NORA Regatta. There’s lots of racing – an ICRA feeder from Kinsale, the Foynes to Fenit, the Dun Laoghaire to Dingle, and Tralee Bay SCs Galway to Tralee Race.

For surfing, head to Castlegregory; elsewhere there’s canoeing, motorboating, rowing, an introduction to waterskiing at Muckno, and lots of angling – something for every water baby.

Then again, you may fancy Connemara Bog Week, Father and Son Day at Letterkenny, The Midland Aquathon, the Gorden Bennett Rally, or Co Louth’s Blackrock Tidy Towns Raft Race. Your feet won’t touch the ground no matter where you are in the country!
