Whether you're a new boat owner, preparing for cruising or simply want to build confidence on the water, the Irish National Sailing School's next VHF Marine Radio (SRC) course is a great opportunity to gain one of the most important safety qualifications for any skipper or crew.
The Short Range Certificate (SRC) is the recognised qualification for operating a marine VHF radio and covers everything from routine radio procedures to distress, urgency and safety communications. The course combines practical, hands-on training with the knowledge needed to use modern DSC-equipped VHF radios correctly and confidently. Successful candidates receive the Department of Transport SRC qualification.
Our next course has just a few places remaining:
Course 4
Friday 24 July: 6.00pm – 9.00pm
Saturday 25 July: 9.00am until evening
Whether you're sailing, powerboating or planning to charter abroad, knowing how to communicate effectively in an emergency is an invaluable skill and, in many cases, a requirement.
