Ireland’s Eve McMahon leads the ILCA 6 rankings after strong results in Mallorca and Hyères at the opening events of the 2026 Sailing Grand Slam.

The Howth Yacht Club sailor opened her campaign with victory at the Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca before backing it up with a strong result at the Semaine Olympique Française de Hyères.

That consistency puts the Irish sailor top of the ILCA 6 Olympic class rankings at an early stage of the season.

Across the Olympic classes, early leaders are beginning to emerge after two demanding European regattas.

Spain’s Jordi Xammar and Marta Cardona lead the 470 Mixed fleet after back-to-back victories in Mallorca and Hyères.

Australia’s Matt Wearn holds a clear advantage in ILCA 7, while Singapore’s Max Maeder and France’s Lauriane Nolot top the Formula Kite rankings.

Italy has a strong early presence, with Marta Maggetti leading iQFOiL Women and Nicolo Renna heading the men’s fleet.

The skiff fleets remain competitive. Americans Nevin Snow and Ian MacDiarmid lead the 49er, while Sweden’s Vilma Bobeck and Ebba Berntsson top the 49erFX standings.

Argentina’s Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco lead the Nacra 17 rankings after two events.

Nine nations currently top the ten Olympic classes, underlining the depth of competition across the Sailing Grand Slam series.

The circuit now moves to Dutch Water Week in Almere from 1 to 6 June, where the next phase of the rankings will be decided.
