Following last weekend's Cobh to Blackrock Race, this Saturday's event proved another successful outing for Cove Sailing Club organisers in a fresh westerly breeze of about 15 knots, with some strong gusts.
Using navigation marks, the course saw the fleet start near the Spit Bank Light House and finish off Cage.
Given the westerly breeze, it was a reach out to the buoy and back again. A few attempted spinnakers, but these were quickly dropped in gusty rain squalls.
Next Saturday marks the final race in the Triple Crown, which will be the annual Cork Harbour Naval race.
