Forecast strong winds have cancelled Sunday afternoon’s (15 February) Viking Marine DMYC Frostbite Series in Dun Laoghaire Harbour.

Race Officer Cormac Bradley confirmed the decision affecting 60 boats across mixed dinghy and ILCA fleets.

“Both Met Éireann and XCWeather agree that while mean wind speeds are okay, the gusts are into the mid to high twenties,” Bradley told Afloat.

Organisers acted as gusts are expected to peak during the scheduled racing window.

Racing is expected to resume next Sunday.
