Sunday’s (22 February) Viking Marine DMYC Frostbites racing for dinghies at Dun Laoghaire Harbour has been cancelled for a second consecutive week.

Race Officer Cormac Bradley confirmed the decision after updated forecasts signalled stronger gusts for Dublin Bay.

“While the average wind speed is fine, the gusts are scheduled to go over thirty knots. That would generate problems,” Bradley said.

He added: “Hope I am not being too conservative!”

The call was made ahead of racing in the interest of safety.
