#DBSC – Yesterday might have been the longest day of the year but the weather doesn't know it, poor winds have dogged the summer season so far and for Dublin Bay Sailing Club (DBSC) it is sizing up to be the worst on record.
Aorund now the country's biggest racing club (founded in 1884) is normally announcing prize winners at the end of its first series but instead it is counting the cost of losing six of its seven Thursday night races. Since the first race on April 26 it has been a case of no wind for the 300 competing boats except for one night blown out by a summer gale so there was some relief that last night the eighth race was completed in albeit far from ideal conditions.
