Howth Yacht Club had three sailors in the 2024 Sailing Olympiad, with the 49er team of Rob Dickson & Sean Waddilove (also of Skerries) placing fourth at the finish, while Eve McMahon – one of the youngest competitors – was 14th in her first Olympics during a season in which she also won several world titles.
OLYMPIC PRESIDENT AND CHEF DE MISSION
HYC has been an enthusiastic provider and supporter of Olympic challenges for very many years. In recognition of this, a delegation from the Olympic Federation of Ireland, led by President Lochlann Walsh and Chef de Mission Gavin Noble, is visiting the clubhouse on Howth Harbour at 4.30 pm on Saturday, January 4th, to make a presentation to the newly elected HYC Commodore Kevin Monks and his members.
It promises to be an afternoon and evening of celebration, as the Olympic presentation will be followed by HYC's annual Achievers' Awards Ceremony, in which Howth winners in all sailing disciplines across regional, national and international level will be honoured.
