Twenty-four dinghies are entered in Monkstown Bay Sailing Club’s Class 1 dinghies June League.

Racing in Cork Harbour is on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The 505 crew of Brian Jones and Gary Frost are leading the class after five races, with a total of nine points, three ahead of veteran Laser sailor and expert Davy O’Connell on 12, racing his ILCA 7.

In third place is Colin Johns in another Laser 7, but much further behind the leading two. He is on 22 points, just one ahead of another of the club’s Laser ‘veterans’ John Moynihan, on 23.

Class Two has nine entries, including Fevas, Optimists and a Mirror, sailed by the O’Connor combination of Tim and Philip who are the leaders on 6 points. Two Feva XLs are next best placed but some distance behind, sharing 16 points each – Harry Cole and George Curtin and the O’Domhnaills crew - Conall and Cormac.
