Ronan Kenneally has won Monkstown Bay Sailing Club's October Dinghy League in Cork Harbour, securing the Class 1 title with a second-place finish in Saturday's final race.

The club's Sailing Secretary, racing an ILCA 7, had led the series after three races and maintained his advantage to take overall honours.

Club Commodore Ewen Barry and Rear Commodore Sandy Rimmington finished second overall in their Fireball. The pair, who won the Munster Fireball Championship in September, had provided Kenneally's closest challenge during the series.

Fellow Laser sailor Davy O'Connell, winner of the club's August League, completed the Class 1 podium.

The October series attracted 17 boats, with racing interrupted by Storm Boelo, which forced the cancellation of the previous Saturday's programme.

In Class 2, Oliver Kenneally and Max O'Sullivan went unbeaten in their RS Feva XL, winning all four races. Conor and Muireann Flannery finished second overall, also sailing an RS Feva.
