After five races sailed in the Royal Cork Yacht Club's UK Sailmakers Ireland May Thursday League, Ronan Downing's Half Tonner Miss Whiplash did not need to sail the last race on (May 29th) to top the IRC spinnaker leaderboard in the 11-boat fleet.

One-time leader Fiona Young's Albin Express, North Star, took second, one point behind Downing on seven.
Andrew Crosbie's Etchells 22, 'Knot on Call', finished in third place on 11.

The league had three other divisions: Non-Spinnaker Echo, Non-Spinnaker IRC and Spinnaker Echo.

In Non-Spinnaker IRC, Andy Jenkins' S&S 34 Morning After won on five points, the Dehler 34 Big Mc (Frank & Celine McGrath) was second on nine points, and Kieran O'Brien's MG 335 Magnet, which also competed in this month's Kinsale Yaht Club Fastnet Race, finished third on 12 points. The result was repeated in the larger ECHO fleet.
