With three wins from four races, Peter Beamish's Camira from the host club has established a six-point overnight lead at the Beneteau 31.7 National Championships at the Royal Irish Yacht Club on Dublin Bay.

Racing initially this morning in gusty north-westerly conditions of 8-12 knots Beamish made plenty of ground in the opening race and set the scene for the rest of the day with some blistering pace at times over defending champions Levana (Jean Mitton) of the Royal St. George Yacht Club in second overall.

Winds dropped as per the forecast to less than 10 knots from the South West this afternoon.
