Three Foyle Sailability sailors took to the podium at this year’s Foyle Sailability Regatta on Lough Foyle earlier this month.
The regatta brought together disabled sailors from across Northern Ireland for a day of inclusive racing on Lough Foyle, with crews from Belfast Lough Sailability, Lough Erne Sailability and Foyle Sailability all getting out on the water despite the tricky conditions.
The course, sheltered slightly by the sea wall, held up well even as strong winds forced the cancellation of most other events at the neighbouring Greencastle Regatta Festival that day, making it a solid result for the sailors who did get out.
Three Foyle sailors ultimately made the podium: RoseAnn McGinley took second place, with Maria McGrory and Cara Curran both picking up bronze.
