The country's biggest yacht racing club will benefit to the tune of €81,896 for two rescue and mark laying RIBS and engines in the Government's latest Sports Capital Funding announcement. 

Dublin Bay Sailing Club was one of 28 Irish yachting and boating clubs that have been successful in the Government's Sports Capital Funding applications.

The neighbouring Irish National Sailing Club at Dun Laoghaire Harbour was awarded €40,501 for new club sailing boats and safety equipment. The Sailing in Dublin Club, also in Dun Laoghaire, got €14,561 towards Laser dinghies.

A total of €774,668 was allocated to watersports applicants in this year's allocation.

On the south coast, Kinsale Yacht Club will benefit from €37,620 for marina repair and a sailability boat. 

The Sailing Into Wellness organisation was awarded €99,098 for two offshore sailing vessels for the community.
