The Junior Friday series resumes this Friday after a short break during the June bank holiday weekend. Over 60 young dinghy sailors from the waterfront clubs have completed 6 competitive races to date and are looking forward to resuming racing in Dun Laoghaire harbour.

The first 3 Fridays delivered great sailing conditions in the harbour. With the National YC and the Royal St.George YC alternating race officer duties, triangular courses were set up each night, showcasing speed, skills and tactical battles at all levels.

In the Optimist fleet, RstGYC Felix Crinion is having a strong series, and despite missing the second night, he has a narrow lead over the ever-enthusiastic NYC Dylan Fahy, who is still benefiting from his excellent second-night racing. Ollie Ryan is completing the podium. Kate Walsh is leading the girls.

All the other classes start together, and we are running an informative overview of PY. It is brilliant to see 3 different classes topping the leaderboard. RstGYC Rachel Kavanagh is having a very strong series in her ILCA4; Laser4.7, including 5 race wins to lead NYC Dylan Hall's Topper and clubmates RS Feva of Albert Kennedy and Dillon Tanaka.

As part of the Women at the Helm weekend, the June 12th races will deliver a special night for the girls, with podiums and medals. It is still possible to enter the races even if not registered for the full series by following the registration link here.
