Perth Pair Clean Up in Liffey Descent

“That was awesome fun,” said Steve Bird, after he partnered fellow Australian Jesse Phillips to a win in the Liffey Descent. The two men from Perth, competing for the first time in the Straffan to Islandbridge race, were the fastest in the K2 section, leading in Peter Egan and Pedro Lopez of Salmon Leap and Brett Irvine and Kenlea Murray from South Africa.

Kevin Pierce of Wild Water Kayak Club took the K1 title ahead of Malcolm Banks of Salmon Leap. Sean McCarthy of Salmon Leap took the junior K1 title.
