The ninth Annual Boyne Boat Race, hosted by the Inver Colpa Rowing Club, took place on 4th May. Due to adverse weather, the race switched to a river-only format, omitting the sea stretch from Clogherhead.
Race Coordinator Shirley Byrne efficiently managed the reorganisation. This year, the race started at Crook Point, allowing crews to row through Drogheda while coinciding with the Drogheda 10K. Spectators lined the riverbanks to support both rowers and runners.

A variety of boats participated, including East Coast Skiffs and a Pilot Gig from Whitby, UK. Inver Colpa entered three mixed crews and secured the Cassidy Cup with their fastest team: Saoirse Mallon, James McKevitt, Hannah Woods, Darragh Farrell, and cox Glenda Murphy.
Club PRO Sarah McCann remarked, "The last minute route change allowed crews to row through Drogheda for the first time, creating excitement and competition."
Inver Colpa expressed gratitude to all supporters and sponsors, including the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue Service and Drogheda Port.
Looking ahead, the club prepares for the Drogheda Raft Race on 1st June, encouraging creative entries from local businesses.
