Registration has opened for the 2026 Round Rockabill Rowing Race, with Skerries Rowing Club inviting experienced crews to take on one of Ireland's best-known offshore rowing challenges on Saturday, 29 August.
The 15km race starts and finishes on South Strand, Skerries. Competitors begin with a beach sprint before rowing approximately 7km east into the Irish Sea, rounding Rockabill Lighthouse and returning to shore for a second beach sprint to the finish.

The event is open to a wide range of coastal rowing classes, including St Ayles Skiffs, FISA quads, Celtic Longboats, One Designs and East Coast Skiffs. All crews must be coxed.
Organisers say the course combines competitive racing with a distinctive offshore setting around one of Ireland's most recognisable lighthouses.

"There are multiple prizes awarded at the end, though the views alone will be something to tick off your rowing bucket list," Skerries Rowing Club says.
The club is encouraging crews from around the country to enter.
"Regardless of what you like to row – St Ayles Skiffs, FISA quads, Celtic Longboats, One Designs or, of course, East Coast Skiffs – as long as you've got a cox, we challenge you to undertake Rockabill's challenge," the club adds.
