Dilleen and Puspure Grit It Out to Make World Cup Semi-Finals

Lisa Dilleen and Sanita Puspure held off challenges from Canada and Germany’s number one boat to secure a place in the A/B semi-finals of the women’s double scull at the World Cup rowing regatta in Lucerne. The Ireland crew had to be in the top two in a  repechage dominated by New Zealand’s Fiona Patterson and Anna Reymer. They made second their own and held it despite the early pressure of Canada and a late push by Germany One.

The lightweight women’s double of Sarah Dolan and Claire Lambe finished fourth in their repechage and the lightweight double of Michael Maher and Mark O’Donovan sixth in their quarter-final. Both missed out on A/B semi-final places.
