#Rowing: Sanita Puspure took second in her heat of the women’s single sculls at the World Rowing Championships at Aiguebelette in France and qualified comfortably for the quarter-finals. There were three places available and Mirka Knapkova of the Czech Republic made first place her own early on. Puspure contented herself with second and held off Lisa Scheenaard of the Netherlands, who took took third, ahead of Poland's Julia Michalska.
