The DIFOWT — De-Risking Ireland’s Floating Offshore Wind Targets — project will host an end-of-project seminar during this month’s Wind Energy Ireland Offshore Conference in Dublin.
The free event takes place on 27 May from 2pm to 4pm at Meeting Room 6 in the Clayton Hotel on Burlington Road.
Funded by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), the project examines the infrastructure, port capacity, vessel and workforce requirements needed to support Ireland’s future floating offshore wind sector.
According to organisers, the seminar will feature one hour of presentations from the project team outlining key findings and outputs from the research initiative, followed by a networking session with refreshments.
Attendance is free and does not require a conference pass, although organisers say places are limited and registration is required by 20 May.
The DIFOWT project is a collaboration involving Rockall Research Ltd, MMCC Port Marine, Wave Venture Ltd and Wind Energy Ireland.
The seminar comes as Ireland continues efforts to develop floating offshore wind capability in deeper Atlantic waters, with growing focus on the readiness of Irish ports and marine infrastructure for future offshore renewable projects.
