The memorial sailing race for the Guy Perrem Trophy, part of the annual cruiser racing schedule at Monkstown Bay SC had Cove SC boats joining the MBSC fleet for the start at Monkstown under Race Officer Alan Fleury. This was part of the join Cork Harbour racing programme between the two clubs this season.

They sailed a course to the outer harbour. Jim Doyle’s lovely wooden boat Greensleeves triumphed, crewed by Denis Long and John Creagh. Greensleeves is the only boat of its kind in the fleet and showed her ability amongst the more modern cruisers.

“A good day’s racing and the combined clubs racing this season has been a positive development,” said MBSC Cruiser Class Captain Henry Jefferies.
