A row has emerged over the hosting of the historic Liffey Swim, with two separate events scheduled for this month.

According to RTÉ News, Leinster Open Sea have accused Swim Ireland, the sport’s national governing body, of trying to take over the event it has hosted for many years.

Swim Ireland, meanwhile, had levelled claims of concerns over governance at Leinster Open Sea while maintaining that the more than 100-year-old River Liffey swim has always been run with its backing.
