A pre-tender process for the construction at Rosslare Europort for a new state of the art border control post consisting of a total of 19 buildings has now opened to bidders.
The news was confirmed by Minister of State for Law and Reform James Browne, who says that the government is committed to developing “this multi-million Euro facility as soon as possible".
Last month, it was confirmed that the Office of Public Works (OPW) would develop the new infrastructure at Rosslare Europort on behalf of the Revenue Commissioners, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and the HSE. The border control post, known as Terminal 7 will consist of 19 buildings, associated enabling works and an access road.
While a figure cannot be put on the cost of the project at this stage due to commercial sensitivities, it is believed it will cost north of €130m to complete and will be funded via the Brexit Adjustment Reserve fund.
