Twelve yachts sailed in the Copper Kettle Race at Schull Harbour Sailing Club in West Cork on Saturday.

The winner was the J80 OD, Slightly Steamy, perhaps an appropriate boat name for the winner of the 'Kettle Race.' The yacht is owned by Ricky O'Brien and was helmed by Tony O'Brien, finishing the course in 1 hour 49 minutes and 30 seconds, taking line hours also and which corrected to 1:47:32 on handicap.

Peter Duggan's Manzanita was second, helmed by Daniel Duggan, which took 2 hours, 8 minutes and 54 seconds to sail the course, correcting on ECHO handicap under which the race was sailed, to 1:50:28.

Third was Alan Dwyer's Elan 31, which he helmed himself, finishing the course in 2 hours and 20 seconds, correcting on handicap to 1:57:27.

The next race at Schull will be for the Ronan Long Island Trophy this Saturday.
