Suzuki GB PLC and Suzuki Republic of Ireland have announced a change in leadership, with Managing Director Takanori Suzuki set to retire at the end of May.

Mr Suzuki concludes a three-year tenure in the role, marking his second term leading the Milton Keynes-based headquarters, having previously served from 2005 to 2010.

His career with Suzuki Motor Corporation spans more than 40 years and includes senior leadership roles across Europe, Oceania and Latin America.

Kazuyuki Yamashita will assume the role in April, joining from Suzuki Deutschland where he has served as Managing Director for the past five years.

Mr Yamashita joined Suzuki Motor Corporation in 1987 and has held positions across Japan and international markets.

His previous roles include Director of Automotive Sales at Suzuki Canada from 2001 to 2006 and Managing Director of Suzuki Auto South Africa from 2007 to 2013.

Suzuki said Mr Yamashita “brings a wealth of experience” to the role as the company continues its operations across the UK and Irish markets.

The company added that it “looks forward to welcoming Kazuyuki Yamashita” and extended best wishes to Mr Suzuki for “a long, happy and healthy retirement.”
