This 1998 Elan 295 in Crosshaven blends cruising comfort with racing performance, featuring a Yanmar engine, modern sails, and spacious accommodation

A 1998 Elan 295 is now available for sale in Crosshaven, Co. Cork, through Crosshaven Boatyard, offering a blend of comfort and sailing performance.

Powered by a Yanmar 18HP diesel engine, this 30-foot cruiser-racer is designed for both racing and cruising enthusiasts.

The layout includes a forward cabin, saloon, L-shaped galley, aft cabin, chart table, and heads. Six berths are available.

The hull is GRP with a fin keel and spade rudder. Frames at the keel area have been reinforced for added strength.

Rigged with a 7/8ths fractional setup, the yacht features a Harken furling system, adjustable backstay, and a Selden rod kicker.

A comprehensive sail inventory includes a 2018 UK Sailmakers furling headsail, a 2022 heavy No.3, multiple mainsails, and three spinnakers.

Deck gear includes Lewmar winches, mooring cleats, anchor and chain, fenders, and a swim platform with ladder.

Onboard electronics include Raymarine ST60+ instrumentation, a Garmin GPSmap 551 chartplotter, Furuno GPS, and VHF radio.

The interior is fitted with a Neptune 2500 gas cooker, pressurised water system, marine WC, and various storage areas.

Additional features include shorepower, two 12V batteries, a battery charger, and a CD stereo system.

The yacht's IRC rating is 0.928 and it comes with both fixed and folding propellers, a liferaft (out of date), and engine spares.

Broker’s notes describe her as “a yacht with sailing performance,” currently antifouled and ready to sail.

Practical Boat Owner wrote in 1999: “She fills a gap in the market for a sporty yet unextreme 30-footer… the perfect balance between performance, comfort and simplicity.”

The vessel is being sold in good faith with details subject to verification and prior sale.
