Howth 17 No.18 Erica has been listed for sale in race-ready condition. The 1988-built boat is described as “a proven competitor” by the seller and priced ar €20,000.
The boat includes a road trailer as part of the sale. According to the class association, Howth 17s must remain in Howth due to their heritage status.
The Howth 17 is a three-person one-design keelboat created in 1897 for racing off Howth and Dublin Bay.
It is recognised as the world’s oldest one-design keelboat class still racing to its original design.
Class members continue to race and cruise the fleet from Howth Yacht Club, maintaining what the association calls “important historical and heritage value”.
