Two classic Moody cruising yachts have come to market on Afloat.ie, with a Moody 33 and a Moody 36 each listed at €24,500.

Both yachts are offered by Crosshaven Boatyard and reflect the long-standing reputation of the Moody brand for solid offshore cruisers.

The 1979 Moody 33 Mk II is a centre-cockpit cruiser designed by Angus Primrose and built by Marine Projects in Plymouth. She is described as a “roomy family cruiser” and remains in long-term ownership.

The seven-berth yacht is powered by a 35hp Thornycroft diesel and is reported to be in very good condition. Her inventory includes wheel steering, furling headsail, spinnaker in a snuffer, sprayhood and cockpit enclosure.

Broker comments note that the yacht “looks very well both inside and out” and recommend viewing.

Alongside her is a 1980 Moody 36 Centre Cockpit, also designed by Angus Primrose, offering more space and a seven-berth layout with two heads.

The 36-footer is powered by a 2010 Beta 35hp diesel and features an aft owner’s cabin with en-suite, walk-through access and generous storage.

Described as “a fine solid cruising boat”, the broker notes that she requires some upgrading but is “priced accordingly”.

Moody yachts, particularly models from the 1970s and 1980s, remain popular on the second-hand market due to their robust GRP construction, conservative designs and proven cruising capability.

Both yachts are located in Crosshaven, Cork, and are currently listed for sale on Afloat.ie here
