A Swedish-built Malö 39 bluewater cruising yacht, owned by the same person since new and fitted with recent sails and standing rigging, has come onto the market through Crosshaven Boatyard in Cork Harbour.

A 2000 Malö 39 cruising yacht is being offered for sale by Crosshaven Boatyard in Cork Harbour, with an asking price of €199,000.

The 12.23-metre (40ft 1in) Swedish-built yacht has had just one owner from new and is described by the broker as a well-maintained bluewater cruiser, with recent investment in sails and standing rigging.

Designed by Leif Ängermark and built by Malö Yachts AB in Sweden, the yacht was constructed in 1999 and commissioned in 2000. She is Irish-registered, with Irish/EU VAT paid.

Recent Sails and Rigging

Among the principal attractions are two UK McWilliam in-mast furling mainsails dating from 2026, a 2025 furling genoa and standing rigging renewed in 2022.

The mast was unstepped and checked in summer 2022, while the inventory also includes a cruising spinnaker with snuffer and a working jib for the detachable cutter stay.

Auxiliary power comes from a shaft-driven 56hp Yanmar 4JH3-E diesel engine, which the broker says has been serviced and winterised annually by its owner.

A bow thruster, three-blade folding propeller, electric anchor windlass and full cockpit enclosure with fixed windscreen are among the additional cruising equipment.

Accommodation for Six

Below decks, the Malö 39 provides accommodation for six, with a forward double cabin incorporating a separate en-suite shower compartment and a second double cabin aft to port.

The saloon features extensive timber joinery, comfortable seating and an extending dining table, while the L-shaped galley includes a two-burner cooker with oven and grill, twin sinks and a refrigerator.

A forward-facing navigation station is fitted to starboard, with a separate heads and shower compartment located aft.

The yacht also has cabin heating, teak decks and a substantial inventory of navigation equipment, including radar, chartplotter, autopilot and VHF radio.

Bluewater Cruising Credentials

With a displacement of 8,074kg, a ballast weight of 3,175kg and a draught of 1.83 metres, the Malö 39 was designed for extended cruising.

Her construction includes a fibreglass sandwich hull, encapsulated fin keel, partially skeg-hung rudder and raised bulwarks with teak capping.

Crosshaven Boatyard describes the yacht as being in excellent condition and highlights the recent sails and standing rigging as particular selling points.

The asking price is €199,000, with viewings available through Crosshaven Boatyard.
