Berths on Lough Derg in County Galway could be boosted if planning permission (application 09621 on the council website) is granted for a new marina near Castle Harbour. The development is billed as Holiday Village Development to include an Outdoor Pursuits/Water Activity Centre and includes 9 apartments, 22 holiday cottages and a 52 berth marina. The works would include dredging a channel from deep water into the site and substantial excavation of the site to create the marina.
