Law to transfer foreshore licensing duty approved

The Government has approved legislation that will transfer responsibility for granting foreshore licences from the Department of Agriculture and Marine to the Department of the Environment. The development is reported by Harry McGee in today's Irish Times here . The news will be welcomed as a step forward by marine bodies who have been seeking a modernisation of the 1933 legislation.
