O'Leary breaks forestay but stays on form

28th May 2009

It's been a breezy start to the Delta Lloyd Regatta in Holland where Ireland has two entries both of which won their preceding events in style last week. Anna Lise Murphy fresh from Europa Cup success at the Hoorn took a 5 and 3 yesterday but slipped today with results in the bottom half of her Laser Radial 61-boat fleet. Ireland's Eastern European champions , Peter O'Leary and Tim Goodbody, are at the same venue and despite a broken forestay in the opening race of the Star keelboat class are still on form, winning race three this afternoon. O'Leary talks us through the opening rounds in this podcast:

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven’t put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full–time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
