Ireland’s fishing and seafood sector is set to receive €157.7 million in 2026 under Budget 2026, Minister of State for Fisheries Timmy Dooley, TD, has confirmed.
The allocation will fund continued investment in piers and harbours nationwide, as well as support development within the seafood sector.
“This funding will support the continued investment in our piers and harbours as well as provide investment for the seafood sector and services provided by our marine agencies,” Minister Dooley said.
The measure forms part of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine’s overall €2.3 billion budget package, representing a 9% increase on last year.
The investment is expected to strengthen coastal communities, improve infrastructure, and enhance Ireland’s marine services.
