Bavaria Yachts is officially back in Ireland. The award-winning German yacht builder has appointed Malahide Boat Sales as its exclusive Irish dealer, marking a significant new chapter for Irish sailors and powerboaters alike. As part of the appointment, Malahide Marina becomes Bavaria’s official home port in Ireland — providing a dedicated base for yacht viewings, handovers and on-water demonstrations.

“Having Bavaria back in Ireland through a trusted partner like Malahide Boat Sales is a strong vote of confidence in the market,” said Malahide Marina’s General Manager, Gregor McGuckin, speaking to Afloat.ie.

A new era for Irish sailors and cruisers

From performance sailing yachts to capable, well-engineered motorboats, Bavaria’s full range is once again available to Irish buyers. The new portfolio includes the C-Line and Cruiser Line sailing yachts alongside the S-Line, SR-Line and R-Line motor yachts — all built with Bavaria’s hallmark German engineering and practical design philosophy.

One of the first arrivals will be the Bavaria C38, due to reach Malahide Boat Yard in February 2026. Designed by Cossutti Yacht Design, the C38 delivers impressive performance combined with interior volume well beyond its length. Distinctive chines and a modern V-bow give the boat a confident, sure-footed feel, equally suited to coastal cruising, offshore passages or competitive club racing.

Irish boaters keen to see the latest Bavaria models sooner can visit Bavaria’s stand at the Düsseldorf Boat Show this January (16th - 22nd), where highlights from the 2026 range will be on display.

A proven name behind the brand

With more than 30 years in the Irish marine industry, Malahide Marina & Boat Sales has built a reputation as a trusted, full-service base for owners navigating the Irish sailing and cruising scene. Becoming Bavaria’s Irish representative is a natural progression — one that combines an internationally respected brand with strong local expertise and long-term customer support.

“Malahide’s expertise and loyal customer base make it the ideal platform for Bavaria’s return,” said McGuckin. “It’s a partnership built on shared values of quality, innovation and service.”

The Bavaria line-up

From the modern, open-plan living of the C-Line to the timeless appeal of the Cruiser Line, Bavaria sailing yachts are designed specifically for Northern European conditions. Light-filled interiors and intelligent use of space are paired with proven hull designs and a strong offshore pedigree.

The SR- and R-Line motor yachts bring the same design discipline to powerboat owners, offering everything from sporty weekend boats to refined flybridge cruisers. Across the range, the emphasis is on practical layouts, solid seakeeping and confidence-inspiring performance.

All Bavaria models carry Category A (Ocean) certification, underlining their capability for the demanding conditions often encountered around Ireland’s coast.
Local access, global quality

The Bavaria C38, the first new Bavaria sailing yacht to be available in Ireland in over 15 years, will be open for inspection and sea trials at Malahide Marina from February. This allows Irish sailors to experience Bavaria’s build quality and sailing characteristics first-hand — in Irish waters and Irish conditions.

Bavaria’s return to Ireland represents more than a dealership appointment. It signals renewed confidence in the Irish boating market and offers owners the reassurance of local support, professional facilities and a world-class yacht range, all based at one of Ireland’s leading marinas.
