Marine Ireland Industry Network (MIIN) is to hold an online event, Skilling Up: Meeting the Future Needs of the Marine Industry, on Tuesday, 28th March (between 14:30 and 16:00).

MIIN represents and promotes the interests of their members working in Ireland's blue economy, and this will be their first event in 2024 with an online webinar event that is free to attend.

The webinar will update MIIN companies on a number of recent initiatives by key players in the marine industry around the future national skills needs for offshore wind, maritime, ports, and the blue bio-economy.

Among the key players will be Wind Energy Ireland, Greentech Skillsnet, and the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI).

An agenda for the event is coming soon; in the meantime, join the event by registering online for free by clicking here.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven't put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full-time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
