North Sails Ireland would like to congratulate Jack Young and his crew Ellie Aneiros on a great performance last week in the UK.
The Royal Cork Yacht Club pairing took second overall in the UK Dayboat Nationals sailing in a very competitive fleet. Pipped for the title by Peter Hewitt multiple class champion and Dayboat master.
Jack and Ellie travelled over from Cork to Brixham to race PaPa 2, a wooden Yachting World Dayboat built by his grandfather Don Young.

The YWDB Class is a traditional style family boat designed for racing and day sailing. Jack has been sailing in the class as a crew on and off since he was very young and has now raced four years in a row as a helm in his own right with Ellie crewing.
Jack and Ellie had an amazing win in 2023 taking first place in the Championships on the last race. This year, 2024, in Brixham, the cards were stacked in a similar way, but this time, they had to settle for second overall, which is still a fantastic result for this young team. Only one point behind, they sailed a great series, including winning the first race.
I am sure they will be travelling to Falmouth in 2025 to have another crack at the Championships.
Congratulations from us all here at North Sails Ireland.
