Following successful sea trials, the eagerly anticipated hand over of five Whaly 500R completed boats has been made by O'Sullivan's Marine to Inland Fisheries crews from all over Ireland, from Wexford to Donegal.

Each boat was custom built to its own unique specifications.

As well as manufacturing its own range of boats in County Kerry since 1963 as reported previously by Afloat here, O'Sullivan's Marine are also distributors for other market leaders including Whaly Boats.

Whaly BoatWhalys are sturdy double-walled polyethylene boats

With their sleek design, Whalys are sturdy double-walled polyethylene boats that come in a range of colours and sizes from 2.1 metres to 5 metres.

Moulded in one piece, they are virtually indestructible and low maintenance (needs only soap and water or high-pressure cleaner).

Whaly boats are very popular and have multiple uses, from recreational, tenders, escort boats, angling, lifeboats and professional uses, these boats are versatile and incredibly stable.

With a range of available accessories including bench seats, A-Frames, consoles, wheelchair ramps to name but a few.

O’Sullivan’s marine can build a Whaly boat package to suit individual requirements.

We've got a favour to ask

More people are reading Afloat.ie than ever thanks to the power of the internet but we're in stormy seas because advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news sites, we haven't put up a paywall because we want to keep our marine journalism open.

Afloat.ie is Ireland's only full-time marine journalism team and it takes time, money and hard work to produce our content.

So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

If everyone chipped in, we can enhance our coverage and our future would be more secure. You can help us through a small donation. Thank you.
