This year’s Gothenburg Boat Show will be the last, organisers have announced — bringing an end to a 65-year tradition in the Swedish city.

The 2025 edition of Båtmässan will go ahead as planned from 1 to 9 February at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre (Svenska Mässan) and Gothia Towers.

Organisers have cited market conditions in their decision to end the show with just over a week before doors open for this year’s event.

“When conditions change, we need to act and make wise business decisions,” Svenska Mässan commercial manager Benny Karlsson said.

“We will not close the doors to a future boat show if the situation changes, but at present, no more events are planned.”

Similar reasons were also cited in the cancellation of the Paris Boat Show, which had been postponed from last October to April this year before the plug was pulled in November.
