Over 80 marine industry delegates from across Ireland will gather in Dun Laoghaire Harbour this afternoon (February 21st) for a pre-season "Irish Marine Trade Networking Event” hosted by The Irish Marine Federation (IMF).
The meeting will be addressed by international RWE Renewables Executives who have established a base in Dun Laoghaire and are leading the development of the Dublin Array Offshore Wind Farm.
Designed as a networking opportunity to connect marine businesses with the renewable energy sector, IMF Chairman Gerry Salmon states that the event will provide information on training courses and access routes to funding in the blue economy sector.
The Dublin Array project is located approximately 10km off the coast of Dublin and Wicklow counties in the Irish Sea. The project will have an installed capacity of up to 834 megawatts (MW).
The Irish Marine Federation is the national organisation representing the commercial and leisure sectors of the marine industry in Ireland.
In a busy opening to 2025 for the marine trade, the federation has just returned from Europe's biggest boat show at Boot Dusseldorf in Germany with some buoyant order books, and where details of February's networking event were finalised.
As Afloat reported previously, around 40 representatives from industry, government and educational institutions came together in Dun Laoghaire last November to share insights on how Ireland can better support the offshore wind supply chain.

The "Irish Marine Trade Networking Event” hosted by The Irish Marine Federation (IMF) will occur on Friday, 21st February, at 2 pm at Dun Laoghaire Harbour.
