Garmin has launched a new range of compact marine VHF radios designed to improve onboard communication and situational awareness. The new Garmin Signal VHF 400 and VHF 220 feature a slimline design with a 3.5-inch colour touchscreen and edge-to-edge glass display.
The premium VHF 400 includes an integrated Class B AIS transponder, allowing vessels to transmit and receive AIS data including position, course and speed.
Garmin said the radios are designed to take up minimal helm space while offering advanced communication and monitoring functions. “When performance and reliability are of utmost importance, the new Garmin Signal VHF radios provide mariners with peace of mind on the water,” said Susan Lyman, Garmin Vice President of Global Consumer Sales and Marketing.

The radios include automated squelch and adaptive noise-cancellation technology to reduce background noise from wind, waves, and engines. A built-in playback feature can automatically record up to three minutes of radio transmissions across three active channels simultaneously. The units also support Class D Digital Selective Calling (DSC), enabling distress alerts to be sent with vessel information to nearby boats and emergency responders.
Garmin’s new Signal RM 100 remote station allows skippers to control the radios from a secondary helm or flybridge via the Garmin Marine Network. The radios integrate with Garmin chartplotters and support NMEA 2000, Garmin BlueNet and Wi-Fi connectivity through the ActiveCaptain smartphone app.
The Garmin Signal VHF 400, VHF 220 and RM 100 remote station will be available from 1 June 2026. Suggested retail prices are £1,299.99 for the VHF 400, £859.99 for the VHF 220 and £519.99 for the RM 100 remote station.
