Ardoileán (High Island) off north Connemara is one of four islands for sale off the west and in Tipperary.
As The Irish Times reports, High Island off Claddaghduff, Co Galway, is being advertised by Spencer Auctioneers at a guide price of €750,000.
The 80-acre island about three km from Claddaghduff was previously on the market in 2019.
Formerly owned by poet Richard Murphy, it is Special Protection Area under the EU Bird Directive, and has stone ruins of a seventh-century monastic settlement which have national monument status and are in Government ownership.
Also for sale is Innischoragh Island, Clew Bay, Co Mayo, with Patrick Chambers Estate Agents giving a guide price of €650,000.
The 10-acre island laid in grass is said suitable for sheep grazing, and a has a home with panoramic sea and mountain views in Clew Bay.
Inis Saimer, Mall Quay, Ballyshannon, Co Donegal is being advertised by O’Boyle Property at €299,000 .
It has a three-bed house with grounds of half an acre on the river Erne at Ballyshannon Harbour.
Lake House, Cameron Island, Lough Derg, Co Tipperary is being advertised by Lisney Sotheby’s International Realty at €950,000.
It includes a three-bedroom lakefront home on 1.7 acres, and the rest of the circa-100-acre island is native woodland.
