The Axopar 29 Cross Cabin

MGM Boats, with their established dealerships in Cork, Dublin and Belfast, are now supplying Axopar Boats to the Irish market with full aftersales and service capabilities.

Axopar is renowned for being the ultimate performance powerboat, offering exceptional rough-water handling and an exhilarating driving experience. Since their founding in 2014, Axopar have consistently delivered high-quality and well-designed models.

The current range includes the 22, 25, 29, 37 and 45, with multiple versions and configurations of each. The most popular models are the 29 Cross Cabin and 37 Cross Cabin, which offer full wheelhouse protection for the occupants without compromising on handling and performance.

In Ireland, RIBs have traditionally been very popular owing to their sea-keeping capability. Typically, RIBs have deep-V hulls, which cut through waves and provide a soft ride. They are great for short journeys when it’s warm outside, but they lack any real comfort or accommodation. What Axopar offers is RIB-type hull performance with motorboat comforts such as the full wheelhouse, storage/sleeping space and a proper heads compartment.

The Axopar 29, fitted with a single 400HP or twin 200HP Mercury outboards, will achieve 50 knots, meaning you can cruise all day at 30 knots or more without any effort. At cruising speed the fuel economy is exceptional at just 1.6 litres per NM. This performance is achieved by the ultra-dynamic hull design. It features a deep-V, super sharp forward entry and a twin-step. The ride is soft and stable with the bare minimum of slamming over waves. Axopar have always made their boats available for sea trials, and MGM Boats will be continuing this as much as possible. The boat's performance remains the strongest selling point, though by no means the only one.

The build quality of Axopar is very impressive. The upholstery is durable and high quality both internally and externally featuring the finest alcantara, leather or synthetic fabrics. The boats are available with a host of configurations and optional extras, which include many different seating and accommodation choices to make the boat suit each client's needs perfectly. There are in fact over 200 different configurations on the current catalogue and the team at MGM Boats have undergone extensive training and familiarisation so they can guide you through the complete ordering process.

About MGM Boats

MGM Boats is one of Ireland's leading boat brokers now operating internationally as well as throughout Ireland. MGM Boats was founded in 1997 by brothers Martin and Gerry Salmon who were previously worked as a carpenter, joiner and glass fibre laminator in the 1980s. Martin progressed to boat retailing in the late 1980s and Gerry was a service manager in the 1990s. From these many years of experience, MGM Boats was founded in 1997. It started out as a service, maintenance and repairs company based in Malahide, Co. Dublin.

The company grew in 1998 when the Aquador dealership was acquired. Starting as they meant to go on, in 2001 MGM became distributors for Jeanneau Motorboats and Yachts and also opened its second office in Belfast. MGM had begun to create what would be an international and acclaimed brokerage company.

In 2003, MGM Boats moved to Dun Laoghaire Harbour, Co. Dublin. The large office space and yard expanded the service department and paved the way for MGM to acquire the dealership for Sunseeker in Ireland in 2003.

From then, MGM built up its brokerage listings and in 2009 it opened its office in Hamble, UK. This has led to many years of MGM being present at all major UK boat shows, and each year growing their presence and listings.

The success of MGM's brokerage listings spread internationally, leading in 2012 to 2 new offices being opened in the Mediterranean - in Villamoura, Portugal and Mallorca, Spain. The now international brand and team throughout these years received many awards for their enterprising spirit, customer service and international presence, including winning Sunseeker Distributor of the Year in 2007, 2009 and 2011.

This also led to a new Irish office being opened in Kinsale, Co. Cork increasing their presence within Ireland as well as abroad.
