Afloat.ie: Scora to Debate Handicap Issues

Afloat.ie: Scora to Debate Handicap Issues

The knock on effect of changes in handicaps to other classes will be hotly contested when South Coast Cruiser-Racer Association meets to discuss class bands at its agm on Wednesday, December 9th at the Royal Cork YC.

SCORA organisers have stressed the importance that there should be a good attendance because outcomes may have far reaching effects for the future of Scora. This is in spite of last minute change to the date of the meeting. Originally slated for December 11th the time has been changed to avoid avoid a clash with the Munster v Perpignan rugby match.

Among the contentious issues to be discussed will be the question of class bands. Age allowance, especially in relation to boats at the lower end of the Class Two band has become an issue and there is talk that solutions are needed to move these boats into Class Three. Alternatively, if the lower end of Class Two is left stand then consideration will have to be given to  boats at the top end of Class Two moving into Class one. Whatever resolution is to be found with regard to Class Two it inevitably means that it will have a knock on effect to the other classes.
